Matthew Libassi is a photographer living and working in Los Angeles.  He studied English at UNC Chapel Hill, and went on to work in the music industry, assisting Ryan Gentles, manager of The Strokes.  While touring with members of the band across the US, Libassi began taking photographs.

Matthew spent the next 3 years photographing on the street in New York City.  His style led him to commissions for clients including Ford Models, The Louis Vuitton X Exhibition, IMG, and The Petersen Automotive Museum.

Music has been a central part of Matthew's life and remains one of his core influences.  He has photographed live performances, studio sessions and portraits of artists and producers.  Matthew was commissioned by Grammy winning producer Boi-1da (Eminem, Lana Del Rey, Nas, Drake) to be his personal photographer during studio sessions.  He shot The Dandy Warhols sold-out performances at The Bellwether and Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles.

He is available for commissions and assignments in Los Angeles and beyond.
